General info page about "Magnum P.I."

Magnum P.I. is a reboot of the original show from the 1980s with Tom Selleck as Magnum. The main character in the reboot is also Thomas Magnum - a private investigator. He is joined by his buddies and fellow ex-Navy SEALs, Rick and TC. He lives on the estate of Robin Masters, a writer who made a fortune with his "White Knight" novels in which the lead character is based on Magnum. The major-domo of the estate is Juliet Higgins and there's a curator named Kumu. In season 2, Higgins and Magnum become partners as private investigators.

The show premiered in fall 2018, and I started watching it because it was the third reboot by Executive Producer Peter Lenkov who had already successfully rebooted my all-time favorite show "Hawaii Five-0", as well as "MacGyver". As I wanted to support Magnum P.I., too, I decided to add a few pages about it on my fansite dedicated to Hawaii Five-0 and its lead actor Alex O'Loughlin. Since Hawaii Five-0 also filmed in Hawaii (It ended in 2020) and aired on CBS, too, I figured that a crossover between both shows was very likely - and we did get a great crossover in season 2 of Magnum P.I.
Since I fell in love with Magnum P.I. during its first season, I'm glad that I decided to support it before it even started. A little further down, you'll also find out about my Hawaiian friend Wendie's "Magnum Reloaded" blogs that she wrote for the Honolulu Star Advertiser. I helped her "cross-promote" the blog and show.

Filming for the pilot started in Hawaii on March 19, 2018 with a traditional Hawaiian blessing which brought good luck because the reboot got picked up by CBS for a full season and continues with more seasons.

I love Executive Producer Peter's reply to my question at the SOTB premiere (Sept. 16, 2018 in Waikiki) where I had the honor of doing a few interviews at the press row - actually on behalf of the serienjunkies.de website but I couldn't resist asking a few questions about/for Wendie's blogs, too.

I decided that it was time to create my own Magnum P.I. page. After my friend Wendie's Magnum Reloaded page was blocked by Facebook in Dec. 2020 for unknown reasons, I had shared my collages on a group page but always needed to get my collages approved by the page admins which I wasn't too happy about. It's better to have one's own page where I can decide what to post. On the other hand, I don't want to overload my fansite for Alex/H50 with too much Magnum P.I. stuff - There are only 5 pages and that's enough.
