By the way, "A hui hou" means "See you later", so Steve clearly intends to come back to his Five-0 ohana!
I'll try to avoid spoilers because some fans haven't watched the series finale yet. I'll just say that I absolutely loved 41:08 minutes out of a total of 42:45 minutes of the series finale and that Alex and Scotty were simply fabulous! That being said, I will never forget that we got to enjoy 239 episodes before this finale, and among those episodes were not even a handful that I did not like or love. So Thank You again to the very best cast and crew for bringing me 10 years of happiness! I can easily ignore 1.5 minutes out of so many great hours :-)

It's a great blog, as usual, although I wholeheartedly disagree with Wendie regarding one particular sentence about the person who joins Steve at the very end of the episode - the end that one of my fan-friends (who has been a diehard fan of H50 and Peter's work since season 1 and a 100% committed supporter and fansite admin!) described yesterday with the following words: "2 minutes that ruined 10 years of support. No sense."

Happy H50 Night to the German fans with the "new" ep. 10.11 on Sat.1 at 10:15!
After the end of the show on CBS, fans in many countries still have a lot of episodes to look forward to - That's the one good thing about "lagging behind" the U.S. viewers over the years. Anyway, enjoy the show while you can! It also looks as if Sat.1 will interrupt the 10th season after ep. 10.12 because according to their schedule, there will be a repeat of ep. 9.01 in two weeks which means that German fans will probably not get to see the rest of Season 10 until fall.

I love the 2nd and 3rd question in paragraph 1 about H50 in this article - The writer speaks for me (and many others!)
Steve looked quite emotionless in their scene together - or even slightly annoyed when he looked up at Cath. He definitely did not look like he was happy to see her again. And I think it could well have been Alex's choice. It would not be "unprofessional" of Alex (as certain McRoll fans call it) but just a display of self-respect and maintaining the dignity of his character Steve by not portraying him as a total fool.
So many of my fan-friends and several long-time H50 supporters who've run fansites like me share my opinion that the final scene was not only superfluous but a slap in the face to many of us who believe that Steve deserves better than to get reunited with a woman who has lied to him and left him repeatedly and has hardly been seen since the end of season 4 - and on top of that has made the same job choice as his mother, which brought so much pain, loss and misery into his life for nearly 30 years. Cath is the last person he'll find "peace" with because she's too much like his mother.
Therefore, the final 1.5 minutes of the series finale were like a bad joke because it's just so unbelievable that these two would get together after all that's happened (or not happened) between them in the last 5-6 seasons (which is more than half of the show's 10-year run). This couple may have been great back in season 2 and 3 but their relationship went downhill and died in the following seasons.

The book is the one I made for Dennis, Alex, Scotty and Peter as a gift for the 50th anniversary of the show. I was glad that Dennis really loved it because for him both the original show, as well as the reboot, have been such an important part of his life. Initially, I intended to make the book for him as an exclusive gift but then realized that Alex, Scotty and Peter should have the book, too. If you watched the recent "Thank you to H50" fan-video compiled by Amy Bakari, you've probably noticed my own copy of the book in the background. I admit that I love to look at the memories in it, too :-)

APRIL 12, 2020: Have a Sunny Easter Sunday!

The Five-0 Redux blog about the best episodes of H50 is a bit delayed but should be online soon!
As mentionned before, it's Wendie's very last blog about H50. In today's collage I focused on the fan-favorite duo McDanno who had some of the most important scenes together in the best episodes of the show. These two were always there for each other - unlike a certain woman that was awkwardly, unfittingly and unnecessarily squeezed into the final 1.5 minutes of the series.
I find it quite strange and insulting to be accused by a fellow-fan of criticizing Alex and his acting performance (If I thought he was a bad actor I would not run a fansite for him for nearly a decade!!!) just because I had (and shared) the feeling that Alex's performance in the final scene (when his character Steve looked up at Cath rather emotionless and almost annoyed) suggested that he agrees with the majority of long-time fans and fansite admins who thought that it was quite unbelievable that Steve would get back together with that woman after all that happened in the last 5-6 seasons. Alex deserves self-respect and dignity for himself and his on-screen character Steve that Alex breathed life into for 10 years. The show would not have run this long without Alex and his always brilliant performance. He is not a brainless robot or a puppet-on-the-strings of the writers - which a.m. fan thinks he should be to be "professional" as an actor. I think an actor has the right to his own will and to bring in own ideas and emotions - especially after giving 110% of himself to this show for a decade and being the one who brought the respective character to life and turned him into the person we all love and followed over the years. Besides, Alex was a producer in the final season, too, so he had the right to put his "own touch" to that final scene. "Rant over" - Quoting the fan who criticized me and "analyzed" certain articles and the final H50 scene for other fans as if we were little children who needed someone to explain our favorite show and our favorite actor's interviews to us. It's bad enough that the McRollers are attacking other fans (primarily McDanno fans) with some very nasty words but to be attacked by a fan-friend who questions my loyalty to Alex just because I prefer to see him as a human being with his own will and brains is going way too far.

Here are some more pictures from the best episodes of H50 which the last Five-0 Redux blog is about.
Unfortunately, pictures of embittered Doris in ep. 10.07 keep reminding me of the reasons why Steve would never find the much-needed peace with Cath - if the show had continued or if Steve's life was real. These two women have too much in common - such as the repeated lies, disappearances and a job that has caused so much pain and loss in Steve's life. That pain and loss is the reason why Steve needs to clear his head and find peace. How is he supposed to succeed in doing so if Cath is inviting herself on his journey, literally forcing herself upon him instead of giving him the chance to forget and to get over the trauma caused by his mother and her job? While Peter always wrote the best episodes of H50 (incl. my personal favorites, such as the 100th and 200th episode), he really ruined those very last 1.5 minutes of my favorite show. The fact that the many fans who dislike the final scene and think it makes zero sense, have all been diehard fans and long-time supporters of the show (incl. at least half a dozen fansite admins from different countries), says a lot!

German H50 fans who want an extra dose of Hawaii, can watch Magnum P.I. on VOX from May 13!
After just recently postponing the start of Season 2 on German television, VOX has now announced the new start date in mid-May.

Happy Aloha Friday with Magnum P.I. episode 2.16 on CBS at 9/8c!
While it can't "replace" H50, it is also fun to watch, has a great cast and characters, and you get to enjoy beautiful views of Hawaii, as well as occasional appearances by former H50 actors. Quite a few reasons to tune in and make the best of your Friday night. Oh, and I read somewhere that the show was renewed for Season 3 but it was an unofficial page. I hope there'll be official confirmation of the renewal soon. And when it returns in fall, it will air on Mondays.

APRIL 18, 2020: Happy Weekend :-)

Fans in Germany can celebrate an "H50 marathon" this Saturday night with tons of H50 repeats on Kabel Eins - The fun starts at 8:15 p.m.!
That's what I call a great birthday present - especially since I love that short scene with the ohana dancing at Kono's wedding. I assume that I will be "disturbed" repeatedly by phone calls but I'll try to enjoy all the episodes. Kabel Eins will repeat the episodes 6.01 (at 8:15pm), 6.02 (at 9:10pm), 8.01 (at 10:05pm), 3.10 (at 11pm) and 3.13 at midnight. Afterwards, there'll be repeats of those repeats (starting with 6.01 again).

H50 and Magnum P.I. fans who've enjoyed Wendie's Five-0 Redux and Magnum Reloaded blogs can look forward to a new blog page which is currently getting set up!
I just wanted to share this info real quick before I prepare new posts. I'm lagging behind a bit because of my birthday on Saturday.
Even though I celebrated alone due to the lockdown, I got phone calls all day long - and after the last 2-hour call in the evening, I decided to watch part of the H50 marathon on German television.

Kabel Eins is really spoiling fans these days. I just watched H50 repeats during breakfast and the fun continues tonight with 5 repeats. Fans in Germany can enjoy the following episodes: 6.03 (at 8:15pm), 6.04 (at 9:15pm), 8.02 (at 10:10pm), 3.15 (at 11:10pm) and 3.20 (at 12:05am). It's a good selection including the episode in which Junior and Eddie were introduced (ep. 8.02).

Only a few days are left to participate in the Donate Life Month campaign by the Alex O'Loughlin Fans for Organ Donation!
There were only 3 donations, so far, and most of the money raised was donated by me.
