OCTOBER 1, 2019:

Info for new fans: Find out why Alex is an ambassador for organ donation and why our "Alex O'Loughlin Fans for Organ Donation" group helps him raise awareness of organ donation - and has done so for about a decade!

And, of course, the photo of grinning Alex used in this collage has nothing to do with organ donation but is originally from a premiere event. The grinning face might not be the perfect choice for a collage about organ donation but sometimes I just can't find good pictures to use when I'm in a hurry to make dozens of collages - like I was before my September vacation in Hawaii.

Just real quick. I got back from Hawaii yesterday but will need some time to update the page and to sort and upload photos from my vacation. Since I did a long interview with Dennis Chun for the German Serienjunkies website (for which I was also in the press row at the SOTB premiere), I've been busy doing the transcript of the audio file from the interview and yet need to do the German translation. And, of course, I have material from the SOTB. I promise that you can look forward to some  stuff - even though I barely saw any H50 filming (Alex was off work, anyway) and I (again) did not get to talk to Alex at the SOTB premiere because there were too many actors to do individual interviews with all of them. We were told in advance that anyone in the press line (except the interviewers from CBS, Hawaii News Now and the Honolulu Star Advertiser) would have to do "group interviews". While I did get to talk to Katrina Law, Dennis Chun and Shawn Mokuahi-Garnett, as well as Magnum P.I.'s Stephen Hill and Christopher Thornton, most of my not-so-good videos only show interviews that others were doing, as well as the general "chaos" on the red carpet where actors were moving back and forth and were repeatedly pulled away right before I'd get a chance to talk to them. It's a bit frustrating because I had some good questions for several of the actors but didn't get to ask the best questions. And it was sad to see that other reporters confused Kimee with Meaghan, said that Meaghan was on Magnum P.I. - or asked for the hundredth time for the favorite restaurants of the cast instead of interviewing them about their work and the shows. I still enjoyed the premiere screening though and, of course, the vacation in general. It's just sad that I have little to share from the actors and about the shows.

OCTOBER 2, 2019:

A selection of news, articles and videos posted while I was on vacation in Hawaii in September and couldn't share things from the computer in the hotel lobby for several reasons:

Photos and videos from a screening of Alex's episode 10.07 which he wrote, directed, produced and acted in:
This screening was exclusively for the cast and crew and their families, as well as a few selected guests who were explicitly asked NOT to take any videos and photos of the episode - let alone share them on social media. According to a friend, however, at least one woman did share a video clip from the episode on YouTube - and she is not part of the cast and crew who would never disclose any (partial) episodes before they air - and not only because they could lose their jobs!
People like this woman (actually just a huge fan who's managed to build up some "connection" to the cast/crew) make me mad because by abusing the trust placed in them by the cast and crew, they make it harder for other fans to be trusted by the team - resulting, for example, in stricter security at filming sets and at special events. So if you are ever lucky enough to have gained the trust of a cast or crew member and enjoy the privilege of access to a set, the studio or even to a closed event, do not abuse this trust. I talked about this briefly with Dennis when I met him for the interview and he confirmed my thoughts expressed above. I was glad to hear that he trusts me and my friend Wendie. Of course, I can share videos and photos as long as they do not show parts of Alex's episode :-)

The organ donation charity posted a photo of me in front of one of the great donor quilts they've put up in honor of organ donors. It was really nice to meet some of the staff working for the charity that we've raised funds for in our last few campaigns by the Alex O'Loughlin Fans for Organ Donation. I also got to talk with Nancy who has been our contact regarding the campaigns for the charity. I have a couple more photos from their office which I'll use in a later post:

I'm honestly not very happy to see these photos showing up right after my return from Hawaii. I had zero chance to see Alex filming within the 17 days I stayed there - and now he's back filming outside in Waikiki. After another expensive trip to Hawaii and super-long flights and suffering from jet-lag and waking up in the middle of the night with foot cramps probably resulting from the economy class flights that make you feel like a canned sardine, this is not exactly what I wanted to see right now (although I usually love seeing Alex) but wanted to share, anyway:

P.S.: I know that most of you won't understand my cranky comment (except some good friends who've had similar experiences) or that people will just tell me (Several have done so, already) that I simply need to go to Hawaii again next year for another chance at the SOTB premiere and to see Alex filming. Maybe I should ask these people to pay for my trip next time - and make it business class to avoid the "canned sardine" feeling.

Lucky congressman Ed case got to visit the Hawaii Film Studio and meet Alex, Katrina, as well as some H50 crew and office staff:
A studio visit (and seeing Alex there at work!) has always been on my bucket-list but it's hard to get into the studio unless you have family working for the show or are the lucky winner of a set visit in one of those rare charity auctions that H50 does from time to time. Well, I guess it also helps to be a politician or V.I.P.

OCTOBER 5, 2019: Have a Happy Weekend :-)

Happy H50 Night to the German fans with two repeats from Season 7 on Kabel Eins at 8:15 p.m.!
Fans in Germany can rewatch the H50 episodes 7.14 and 7.15 tonight. Episode 7.14 includes the only (!) scene in the entire series in which I ever got mad at Danno for his annoying behaviour - and that was when Steve had to take the driving test. Nevertheless, the episode as such was excellent. It's the one that dealt with the Hawaiian sovereignty issue and a falsely accused man seeking refuge at the Nation of Hawai'i. What I'm trying to say is that German fans should not miss tonight's repeats.

A great interview with Will Yun Lee who would love to work with the wonderful H50 'ohana again in his role as Sang Min:
Most of us fans love his character Sang Min who has been one of the funniest and most likeable baddies on the show. I definitely wouldn't mind him coming back and to see him trying to flirt with Tani and Quinn since his favorite Kono (or "Spicy", as he used to call her) is no longer around. Not that I think he'd be any successful with his attempts but, hey, he'd be in good company with my top-favorite "(ex-)baddie" Gerard Hirsch :-)

These were filmed near Kapi'olani Park just one day before I arrived for my vacation. I still find it sad that I didn't see Alex filming, at all, this year - despite a relatively long vacation :-( And, on top of that, I again didn't get to talk to him at the SOTB although I was in the press line, but the poor guy was pulled back and forth whenever he got near me. If you watched my SOTB videos, you know what I'm talking about. It's kind of frustrating if you fly halfway around the globe for a lot of money, primarily because of the show and the SOTB, and also get well prepared for the press line and then don't get to talk to the actors that are most important to you   - and, on top of that, don't get to watch any filming of your favorite two shows. Well, I did see Meaghan and Katrina filming once but not the boys.

I am so fed up with fans who download my stuff (photos, collages and videos) and repost it as if it was their own :-(
Today I noticed that a fan downloaded my SOTB-videos from my YouTube account and cut them into slightly shorter clips and reposted them on her Instagram page. She even tagged the actors, making it look as if those videos were her own.
Just recently, a fan posted a personal photo of me and Alex on her page, making it look as if the person in the photo was her - but it was me in my own photo. I actually stood and waited in the sun for 10 hours on the respective day to get a decent photo and got the photo with Alex just before he left the set to go home.
And I've long given up on counting how many times my collages were downloaded and reposted by other fans without giving credit. I just spent a couple of hours again making screenshots and yet have to make collages out of them - but my motivation is gone. It all takes time and I'm not getting paid for what I do for the fans, so the least I can expect is that fans who download - or literally steal my work - give credit. But they even get pissed off when you criticize them for grabbing other fans' stuff and reposting it as their own, without giving credit. It's just not fair.

After venting my anger about fans stealing my work, I tried to "distract" myself by making quite a few collages since I had made quite a few screenshots from the episode already, anyway. I figured I might as well use them since the collage-making part is what I love the most.

OCTOBER 30 to NOVEMBER 3, 2019:

Having massive problems with the web server for the fansite and get strange messages about changes regarding the web server access, so I'm hesitant regarding updates for security reasons. My web provider wasn't exactly helpful in his reply. Anyway, I hope the problem won't last. Since I was also visiting family, I wouldn't have been able to update in the last 3 days, anyway...

If this message finally shows, I'll be back already and working on fixing the problem, and - if this upload works and doesn't cause further problems - I'll update the fansite. It will take some time today (Sunday).
