AUGUST 4, 2018: Happy Weekend :-)

Happy H50 Night to the German fans with two Season 2 episodes on Kabel Eins from 8:15 p.m.!
Fans in Germany can rewatch ep. 2.20 and 2.21 tonight - these are the two episodes without Alex who had to take a break back then due to serious health problems. Although it was a sad time for Alex and his fans, we must acknowledge the fact that the rest of the team did a great job during his absence - for example Masi as Max in ep. 2.20 which was really good.

Happy Birthday to H50 alumn Daniel Dae Kim - may the future be full of happiness, luck and success!
Since he's been quite successful as a producer with his show "The Good Doctor", his departure from H50 seems to have been the right step for him. While his fans were not happy to see him leave, they must acknowledge the fact that leaving H50 was a good decision for him to make progress in his personal career, with a new focus on producing.
Since the gap he left on H50 was filled perfectly with Beulah, let's just all be happy for Daniel who is a successful producer now - no need to complain and mourn any longer!

A book recommendation by H50 DVD guru David Naylor: "Booking Hawaii Five-O" about the original series
You certainly all remember that David was the one who compiled the excellent DVD bonus about the "Chun Family Legacy" and the role that the original series and reboot have played for the family of Dennis Chun whose dad Kam Fong played Chin Ho Kelly back in the original. So when David recommends this book, you can trust him. The book is available through Amazon in the U.S. - but is temporarily (!) out of stock in Germany since I just ordered the last copy here :-)

Happy McDanno Friday!
Since there's no H50 on CBS tonight, this collage dedicated to Danno, his best buddy and their restaurant will have to do.
I can't wait for the restaurant to open in the 200th episode and Danno's dream come true - with a little help from  entrepreneurial genius Kamekona :-)

Keeping fingers crossed that Mark Dacascos returns as H50's Wo Fat in the remake of the original pilot!
Since H50 is recreating the pilot episode "Cocoon" from 1968, in which Wo Fat played the major role opposite Steve, I hope that Mark will return as Wo Fat for this special Season 9 premiere episode. I would love to see Wo Fat on the big screen in Hawaii at the SOTB9 - and, who knows, Mark might be there live, too. By the way - maybe the hat that Mark is wearing is a good sign because it's from H50 boss Peter's son's charity "Wyatt's Garage".

BIG NEWS about the SOTB9 premiere of H50 and the SOTB1 premiere of Magnum P.I.:
Both shows will celebrate together on Sept. 14 in Waikiki!
I'm slightly surprised because a friend of mine from the German press was told that the SOTB9 would be a week later. Luckily, I'll arrive in Hawaii just in time for the SOTB. However, several of my friends will arrive too late to attend the SOTB, which is kinda sad for them.

Happy Birthday to Scotty - definitely one of my top-favorites on H50 and one half of my favorite duo on the show: McDanno :-)

The charity helps kids with special health problems feel better through surf therapy. The ocean has a healing or soothing effect, especially for people with  diseases of the respiratory system.

AUGUST 25, 2018: Happy Weekend :-)

Update on "hurricane" Lane: I'm so relieved to hear the latest news about Lane. It was downgraded to a tropical storm. There's still some danger from flash floods and strong winds but that's nothing compared to what a major hurricane could have caused. Big Island, however, wasn't all that lucky because there has been major flooding - which is sad because it's the island that has been affected by the volcano eruption for several months.

Happy H50 Night to the German fans with ep. 3.04 on Kabel Eins at 9:15 p.m. - and 2 more episodes after midnight!
Fans in Germany can enjoy ep. 3.04 tonight at 9:15 p.m. and it will be repeated at 0:55 a.m.. It will be followed by the pilot episode at 1:40 a.m. and ep. 3.20 (about Steve's friend Freddie) at 2:30 a.m. - Well, that's a wild mix, and most of it airs super-late at night. Seems like Kabel Eins is trying to beat TNT regarding viewer-unfriendly air times.

A quick info for all of you who have participated in our fundraising campaign for Alex's birthday:
All the birthday wishes posted and emailed before last night (German time) were compiled in a birthday card (pdf file) by me and sent to Taylor's Gift. Emily Allbright (Executive Director of the charity) kindly forwarded it to Alex's assistant.
Since filming for "Hawaii Five-0" was closed down due to hurricane Lane, Alex might not actually receive your b-day wishes before Monday when everyone's back at work.
Any greetings emailed to me after I sent the card yesterday, will be added to the file and will be sent to Hawaii as a printed copy since I have a special anniversary gift to send soon, anyway.
We will also get an update on the fundraiser next week. Emily already told me that it's going very well.
Keep in mind that you can still participate in the birthday campaign by making a donation for Taylor's Gift and sending a (belated) birthday greeting by email.

An update about the fundraising campaign for Alex's birthday by the Alex O'Loughlin Fans for Organ Donation:
Taylor's Gift informed me today about the current amount donated in our fundraiser which ends this Friday. So far, donations are relatively low compared to previous fundraisers and to last year's birthday fundraiser. We don't know the reason but we hope that a few more fans will make a donation this week before the campaign ends on Friday. Please know that Taylor's Gift and Alex very much appreciate his fans' support for this great charity. Thank you on behalf of Taylor's Gift!

Great article about the H50 Season 9 premiere and how Boss Peter has incorporated Wo Fat into the remake of the original pilot - As we all know Wo Fat was quite dead after Steve shot him in the 100th episode!
I love how Peter has changed the storyline for it to make sense despite Wo Fat being dead. Something tells me that this episode will be awesome - even more so, as I'll get to enjoy it on the big screen in Waikiki. I got some great news regarding the SOTB today but cannot share until after the premiere is over :-)
