JUNE 1, 2017:

Help Alex support and promote organ donation!
If you do not yet know why Alex and the "Alex O'Loughlin Fans for Organ Donation" support and promote organ donation, please read this information first. Thank you!

The main reason for promoting organ donation is, of course, that it saves and considerably improves many lives.
Fans should know that in many countries, people are not "automatically" donors but must declare before death that they are willing to donate organs - either by registering online and getting the info indicated in their driver's license (as is the case in the U.S.) or by filling in a donor card that they must carry with them at all times (which is how it's handled in Germany).
Alex and our fan group not only ask you to become organ donors though but also run or support fundraisers for charities in the field of organ donation. A fan wondered why Alex asks you to donate money - although organs are "free" (in her opinion)  because in her country everyone is automatically a donor, unless he/she declares otherwise before death. Well, the reason is that health insurance often does not cover all the costs involved in transplantation (depending on the country you live in) or patients may not be able to afford health insurance - and, in addition, donor families usually get no money, at all, for funeral expenses etc., which is why we've repeatedly supported the "Legacy Gift" program of Taylor's Gift in our fundraisers. And, of course, it takes money to compile and provide information through websites, printed material or at events to raise awareness of organ donation. The purpose of such activities and information is, of course, to increase the number of potential and actual donors and, thus, the number of lives saved.

Personal comment about a "new" article about H50 and Alex that was posted/spread via Twitter yesterday:
I will not include the link to the article - those fans who saw it, know immediately what I'm referring to. I'm only posting this comment here as a general recommendation to fans to not always take web articles too serious and to think first before sharing online articles that are incorrect or spread obsolete information - especially when these articles deal with such delicate subjects as the possible end of H50 or the possible death of a main character or the possible departure of a main actor!
Here's what I posted on Facebook yesterday:
"I really wished that so-called "news websites" did not dig out old interviews from last year and quote Alex from those interviews in supposedly "new" articles - and, thus, cause a turmoil among fans who seem to have missed the more recent interview in the WATCH! magazine from spring 2017.
Besides, the "new" article that popped up on Twitter today (and has already been shared by several fans) has a question mark behind the headline, which clearly indicates to me that the authors have no clue what they are writing about. They are only guessing what might happen, based on interviews from last year. ~Angie."
P.S.: Of course, I don't know if Alex will continue to work on H50 after Season 8 since it's his decision alone and will depend on whether he feels healthy enough. But after his most recent interview, there is some hope that he might continue a little longer than he said last year when he suffered from a serious spinal injury and massive pain. So let's not speculate about when and how Alex's character Steve will exit the show - Let's just enjoy Alex's work while we can and keep our fingers crossed for him to feel well because his health is what matters the most.

Once again, Sat.1 is disappointing German fans of H50 by taking the show off the air for now
Just a couple of weeks ago, their website, a website for series fans and the TV Serienhighlights magazine had indicated that Season 7 of H50 would air on Sat.1 right after the Season 6 finale with just a 2-week break in between because of a German holiday BUT according to the current online schedule and the printed TV magazine I had in my mailbox today, there will be no Season 7 of H50 until further notice. That's also the info a German fan got - Sat.1 has not yet decided when they will continue to show H50.
Although MacGyver will premiere on Sat.1 on June 19 with 2 episodes each Monday night, Sat.1 has decided to show the last few episodes of Season 2 of Scorpion, as well as Rush Hour, on Monday nights after MacGyver, instead of starting Season 7 of H50 - which would have made a lot of sense because of the crossover episode of the shows. But sense and logic are obviously not something that can be expected from the program planners of Sat.1. This TV network sure knows how to disappoint and demotivate H50 fans in Germany - Just when we were happy to see H50 doing great in Germany regarding TV ratings, despite its late air time on Mondays...
Not long ago, viewers had also expected that the repeat of Season 4 would air right after Season 3 ended on Kabel Eins (which belongs to the same group as Sat.1) - but Kabel Eins restarted from scratch with Season 1, instead.
For us fansite admins, and most likely for the authors of the a.m. TV series magazine, it is quite unnerving when schedules and air dates keep changing since we have repeatedly shared info that became wrong or obsolete - To fans and viewers, we are the idiots who posted wrong info. It's really no fun to promote shows airing on Sat.1 They have the best shows (mostly from CBS) but the worst program planners.
UPDATE on June 28 !!!!! Sat.1 announced today that Season 7 of H50 will air on Sat.1 from Monday, July 3 at 10:15 p.m. - after MacGyver !!!!!

This is great! Daniel turned on the TV in Portugal - and what was on?! H50 with himself as Chin :-)

About Alex's previous show "Three Rivers" - A short-lived medical drama that continues to make a positive impact
I'd like to share with you a very good interview with the show's executive producer Carol Barbee - a woman who is equally passionate about her work, as Alex, and strives to tell meaningful, reality-based stories that make a true difference. With "Three Rivers" she has definitely achieved that objective. Despite the show's cancellation after just one short season, it has influenced donor decisions and the lives of transplant patients up to the present day. Alex and his fans continue to spread the message about the importance and benefits of organ donation. Even though we might not make as much of an impact as did the show itself while it aired, I do know of fans who've become donors in recent years because they were inspired by Alex to do so. Hopefully, our "Alex O'Loughlin Fans for Organ donation" group also has a certain positive effect on fans and their decision to register as donors and, thus, to help save lives.

Let me add that I'm happy that organ donation has also been highlighted repeatedly on H50. While H50 doesn't deal with the subject quite as realistically as did Three Rivers, Alex's current show helps to raise awareness of an important topic - which is a very good thing!

JUNE 5, 2017:

It's World Environment Day - a good day to remind the many H50 fans travelling to Hawaii to respect nature and to protect the fragile environment of the islands
While environmental protection is not a main focus of H50 (and doesn't have to be on a crime show), you've certainly noticed that respect and love of nature are very important to Hawaiians - best represented on the show by Kawika, the surfer, or Bumpy Kanahele and his people.
Since it's difficult to preserve the natural beauty and ecological stability on such small islands with booming tourism, I'd like to remind those of you who visit these beautiful islands that you need to show respect of the land - for example by not littering and by not smoking in nature or on beaches (which is actually prohibited!). Let's all do our part to preserve the natural beauty of Hawaii that we all enjoy seeing on our favorite show - and on location when we are lucky to visit the islands.

I'm just saying out loud what many fans, who were always hoping to see these two in a crossover of Criminal Minds and H50, have been thinking. Alex and Shemar worked together on Criminal Minds before but on opposite sides (Alex played a serial killer in ep. 4.22 of CM). Fans would love to see these two reunited on our TV screens, chasing baddies together.

For World Oceans Day, please support "Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii" (like Alex) and protect the ocean
A few years ago, Alex hosted a fundraiser for the a.m. volunteer organisation which regularly organizes cleanups on beaches to protect the ocean from pollution. You can join them in their beach cleanups (also as a tourist) and other activities - and, of course, you should not throw away waste, such as plastic bottles, cigarette butts etc. on beaches since they are washed into the ocean and lead to the death of maritime animals.

Which new guest stars or actors would H50 fans love to see on the show? Find out in the new Five-0 Redux blog
Wendie posted a survey on Facebook this week and asked fans which new guest stars, returning guest stars and crossovers fans would love to see. The fans' choices will be compiled in blogs. Today's blog is dedicated to new guest actors (not necessarily famous stars) that fans mentionned in the survey.
The collage only shows my personal favorites. I would love to see Betty White as Danno's grandma - she would totally fit into the Williams family! Keanu Reeves is a popular choice for many fans for a number of reasons - He is partly Hawaiian, he ressembled McGarrett in the movie "Speed", he worked undercover as a surfer in "Point Break" (We all know that surfing plays a big role in Hawaii) and H50's Dr. Max Bergman loves to wear Keanu's movie outfits as Halloween costumes. Anthony Hopkins happens to be one of my top-favorite actors, and since he worked with Claire Forlani on "Meet Joe Black", she could hopefully talk him into coming to Hawaii for a little guest-role. As for Colin Farrell - well, he's a great and totally cool actor and also one of my personal faves. Since he played a leading role in the movie "S.W.A.T.", it would be fun to see him in a crossover episode of H50 with the new CBS show "S.W.A.T."

It doesn't really matter though because the casting directors of H50 always make their own choices, anyway - and, luckily, their choices are almost always excellent.

JUNE 11, 2017: Have a Sunny Sunday & Happy King Kamehameha Day!

Time flies by when you get lost looking for pics of potential H50 guest stars featured in the latest Five-0 Redux blog...
I just spent way too much time going through the IG pages of Jason Momoa and Max Arciniega. Oooph! At least, I got to "know" them a little bit through their photos and posts on Instagram and I understand now why fans would love to see them on the show - especially Jason, being a true and proud Hawaiian, would definitely be a perfect choice for H50. Nearly 100% of the fans of Alex loved "Moonlight" and the romance between Beth and vampire Mick. Sophia and Alex had great on-screen chemistry and, judging from BTS-photos from back then, they also share the same sense of humor and enjoyed working together. While "Moonlight" will never come back (which is o.k. for me since I love H50 the most), it would be awesome to see Alex and Sophia on set and on screen together again.

JUNE 13, 2017:

Since several H50 cast members have visited Europe this hiatus, let's pretend that Alex is in Europe, too :-)
So far, Julie Benz, Daniel Dae Kim and Mark Dacascos have been spotted in Europe this year - and Boss Peter will soon arrive in Europe, too, for the Monte Carlo TV Festival (June 16-20). Lucas Till from Peter's second show MacGyver (which premieres in Germany next Monday, June 19) will also join him in Monaco.
Thanks to Swiss fan Maja who made this collage with two of my favorites a few years ago for a fan-meeting here in Munich, Germany. Of course, Alex was never actually here in Munich (which happens to be the home of two of his biggest fans and fansite admins) but fans can always dream... :-)

Some cast members of H50 are travelling quite a bit this year...
Not only did Daniel just visit several European countries as a "groupie" accompanying the band Linkin' Park, but Julie Benz (who was here in Germany just a few weeks ago) has arrived in Sydney for the Supanova and will also be in Perth soon. Late in October, she'll be back in Europe for the Comic Con in Paris. Boss Peter is also in Europe and will attend the TV-Festival in Monte Carlo (June 16-20). The cast is quite lucky though because even when they have to return after a trip abroad, they return to a beautiful home that is paradise to many of us outside Hawaii.

The editor-in-chief of serienjunkies.de told me that Peter was at a panel answering questions about his shows. So Peter's photos on Instagram were a bit misleading since all of us following his IG page thought he was just there for sightseeing and to recover from the jetlag before heading over to Monte Carlo with "MacGyver" Lucas Till for the Festival de Télévision which starts today. Peter was in Amsterdam for work, too, and to promote his shows (MacGyver, H50 and Salvation). Lucas also joined him in Amsterdam, as you can see in this photo:

Fans in Germany can enjoy four hours with beautiful Hawaii on TV tonight. At 7 p.m., Sat.1 will show part 1 of a documentary about the Hawaiian islands (part 2 airs June 24). At 8:15 p.m., Kabel Eins will repeat the H50 episodes 2.08 to 2.10 (That's the one with Steve getting captured and tortured by Wo Fat in North Korea - and rescued by Five-0 with the help of Joe White, heli pilot Frank Bama and some SEALs).

Don't miss my friend Wendie's new Five-0 Redux blog about crossovers that H50 fans would love to see
In Wendie's recent fan survey, fans indicated which CBS shows they want to see doing a crossover with H50. The shows mentionned most frequently were Blue Bloods (mainly because fans would love to see Tom Selleck return to Hawaii where he played the leading role in the former, popular show Magnum P.I.), NCIS: L.A. (which already had a crossover in Season 2 which sadly didn't have Steve in it though since Alex was on rehab back then), NCIS (which I would have preferred to do a crossover while Michael Weatherly was still on the cast as Tony Di Nozzo since he was my favorite on NCIS) and, last but not least, my personal top-choice S.W.A.T. because I'd love to see Shemar Moore and Alex working together again, as mentionned earlier this month when I gave Wendie the idea for her fan survey and current series of blogs about fan choices.
Other shows mentionned by fans were NCIS: New Orleans, as well as Scorpion, but those two didn't get mentionned as frequently as the others. Fans did not mention MacGyver, which is certainly owed to the fact that we'll get another (bigger) crossover of both shows, anyway, since they have the same executive producer Peter who would be stupid not to do such a crossover, especially since his two shows both air on Fridays on CBS. Peter mentionned several months ago that we can expect such a crossover when both shows return for Season 8 (H50) and Season 2 (MacGyver).

Happy McGarrett Monday with the next H50 collages from my "Father's Day" collection
Steve may "only" be an uncle but I love the way he interacts with children. He would be a great dad. Which kid wouldn't love to get these comforting hugs from Steve? Gracie is very lucky to have uncle Steve.

Whenever kids are at danger or need someone to comfort them, Steve will be there for them and will do anything in his power to protect them and to make them feel safe and loved.

Have a Sunny Sunday! Actually, it feels really good though to finally have slightly cooler temperatures and long-needed rain here at my end of the planet today :-)

Collage no. 2 with pics from fan-favorite episodes from H50's Season 7 - and a repost of the Five-0 Redux blog about these episodes
One fan voiced her disappointment on Facebook about the lack of Chin and Kono centric episodes in the blog. Well, the blog was based on fan feedback from this week through Facebook and Twitter and nobody mentionned those episodes. I think it only shows that there were way too many good episodes or great moments in Season 7 that fans loved. That's what I tried to tell Wendie in my comment that she quoted in her blog - It's impossible to choose one single favorite from so many good ones. When forced to make a choice, most fans tend to choose episodes that focus on McDanno but it doesn't mean they don't like the other Five-0 members or episodes.

Brian's character Charlie hasn't been on H50 for quite a while and fans miss him but it's good to know that Brian is busy producing movies - which is probably much better than just playing a small role on H50. Fans who complain about the absence of Brian or any other actors/actresses on H50 should keep in mind that recurring actors who are not regularly or no longer on H50 usually have other, bigger projects. So instead of complaining to the H50 producers and writers about actors/actresses they miss on the show, they need to realize that it's not the producers/writers' fault when actors find better or bigger jobs elsewhere and are no longer or only rarely available to make an appearance on H50.

The latest post & collage from the Alex O'Loughlin Fans for Organ Donation:
Of course, I know fully well that Steve is just a fictional character and that it is rather unlikely that a transplant recipient would do as much crazy, dangerous action-stuff as Steve has done since his release from hospital. But I prefer to focus on the very positive fact that the show is raising awareness of organ donation and making fans think and talk about it. Fans have mentionned that they looked up information about living donor transplantation after seeing Steve get half of Danno's liver on the show - mainly because they did not believe that livers can actually grow back. Although not every aspect of organ donation has been presented in a realistic way on "Hawaii Five-0", the show made clear to the fans and viewers that organ donation saves lives and that it's a very good thing.

There's a new Five-0 Redux fan survey about the fans' favorite H50 episode of all times. I picked a few for the collage
While choosing my top-favorite episode was quite easy since I'll never get enough of watching Alex's outstanding performance in the 100th episode "Inā paha" and of enjoying the perfect ending with the tailor-made song "All for one", I find it absolutely impossible to select a 2nd or 3rd favorite - even if I just try to focus on episodes with Steve that I loved, which is what I tried to do for my collage. I could make a long list of favorite episodes which would include: 1.07, 1.23, 1.24, 2.01, 2.10, 2.23, 3.11, 3.20, 3.22, 4.08, 4.09, 4.10, 5.04, 5.07, 5.17, 5.19, 5.25, 6.24, 6.25, 7.04, 7.18, 7.21 and 7.25 - and those would mostly be episodes focusing on Steve. There are other episodes I loved that focused more on other Five-0 team members or on the team as a whole. And there are episodes, in which I loved individual scenes or moments but not necessarily the entire episode.

This week, the H50 late-night session starts at 12:03 a.m. (Thu.) and includes a repeat of H50 ep. 2.10 which seems to be one of the top-favorite episodes of all Seasons for quite a few fans, according to this week's Five-0 Redux fan survey. IMPORTANT & GREAT NEWS for GERMAN fans - Sat.1 announced today that Season 7 of H50 will premiere NEXT Monday on Sat.1 !!!
This may be at very short notice but who cares! All of us fansite admins will post the news repeatedly until next Monday to make sure all the German fans read the fantastic news in time :-) This is a great decision by Sat.1 because H50 & MacGyver belong on the same night. Besides, fans in Germany always have to wait the longest for our favorite show H50 to air here on free TV.

What a sad day for the H50 fans! Both Daniel and Grace will not return for Season 8 of the show :-(
While I had heard a couple of months ago that Grace would not return but didn't post the news because they were  unconfirmed by CBS, I'm completely shocked to hear that Daniel will not return either - which means two of the four original Five-0 members will be gone and missed by all of us fans. The beloved Five-0 'ohana loses two important family members by Daniel's and Grace's departure. Knowing that Grace would leave was bad enough but to see two loved actors leave my favorite show, is quite shocking - especially in view of the reason for their departure (cif. articles).
Although I'm glad that we get to enjoy one more season with Alex, Scotty and Chi, I'm also sad to see Daniel and Grace leave because I love them, too - especially Daniel who's such a sweet guy and so fan-oriented. I suppose that we won't see little Sara, Chin's love-interest Abby, as well as Kono's hubby Adam, anymore, either, since they were too closely connected to Chin and Kono. Their characters only "make sense" when they are together with Chin and Kono. I also enjoyed Gerard Hirsch and Sang Min the most when they were with Kono. I'll miss those funny scenes with Gerard or Sang Min flirting with Kono.
Well, all I can do is to wish both, Grace and Daniel, the very best and tons of success for the future! They so deserve it!
